South Carolina Gamecocks – Carolina Pride
The football team at the University of South Carolina is represented by the South Carolina Gamecocks. Known As the Gamecocks, the team has been called simply "Carolina" for many years. It is a member of college football NCAA Division I and compete in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference since 1992. The Gamecocks currently plays their home games at Williams-Brice Stadium. His last head coach is Steve Spurrier.
Traditionally, sports teams were named USC Gamecocks men's national teams struggle and Lady Gamecocks women's teams, but this distinction was subsequently abandoned. The Gamecocks have won a number of league championships in recent years. The Gamecocks also have a loyal and extensive fan base. A reporter for CBS Sports, Tim Brando, said that probably no more loyal fans who are fans of South Carolina Gamecock.
The University of South Carolina football team are for the first time in 1892. His first game was in Charleston on Christmas Eve and played against Furman. At the time when football was not yet recognized as a professional sport was not as popular around the country, the Carolina football team was not yet sanctioned by the University.
