What is your list of joy?
My traveling companion was a woman of 83 years of age.
I'm preaching in Jakarta and Singapore-and brought my mother with me.
Sure, her hair was salt and pepper.
And a few more wrinkles face.
Sure, she had her metal cane.
And walked slower than me.
But Mom followed my crazy schedule.
We arrived at midnight in Jakarta. I slept a little. In the morning, I gave my seminar while my Jakarta friends mom traveled throughout the city-malls, the cathedral, etc. In the evening, while watching my show. We slept again after midnight like a teenager a late night.
The next day we woke early for my talk in the morning. After that, while I attended more meetings my friends mom was beaten to the store. This included a cable car in the amusement park!
That night, she slept before midnight. Again!
The next morning, flew to Singapore. No, Mom attended my seminars. But in the middle, went around Singapore. What you believe it? This woman of 83 years, even rode a giant Ferris wheel!
Now tell me: How many of you know of women of age still riding wheel of fortune?
If you are alive, why not be really alive?
Mom is teaching how to be truly alive.
Now do not misunderstand me.
Mom has her moments of deep sorrow.
Mom lost Dad last year.
So once in a while, she cries a lot.
But she has made a decision that, while alive, she lives to the fullest.
While she is alive, she will enjoy life the way she wants.
I think Mom has a list of "Joy," things you really enjoy doing. I do not know if it ever wrote on paper, but I am absolutely sure who has written in his heart. Here is her "Joy List":
· Going to Mass every day.
· Pray daily before the Blessed Sacrament.
· Be happy meals with their children and grandchildren, especially with its favorite son. (Ahem.)
· Watch EWTN on television every day, after my TV, of course.
· Chat with friends by telephone. Most of his old friends are now in Heaven. So she had to make new friends and twenty and thirty years younger than her.
· Listen to my talks and laugh at my jokes, even if you have heard hundreds of times already.
· Walks Cable Car in Indonesia and giant Ferris wheel in Singapore!
His philosophy: "If you're alive, why not be really alive?"
My joy List
Like Mom, I love life. I really!
Ferris Wheel I am not however.
But I wrote my own "List of joy."
Here is …
I simply laugh more frequently.
I simply to date my wife more often than my minimum of once a week. I love being with her.
I simply spend at least 2 hours each day to read books! To drink the knowledge and inspiration from the best of the best.
I simply feel I sweat more. I grew up not very athletic, but that has been changing in recent years. I want to do more exercise. I want to learn tennis, badminton and swimming.
I simply have more "breaks in writing five days on a beach or mountain at least once a month.
I simply play with my kids more often! I have the greatest guys in the world.
I simply take long vacations with family and friends 3 times year.
I simply have more lunches with my mentors.
I simply earn ten times what I earn now.
I simply share more practical wisdom than other people, so will know how to live with more love, happiness and abundance.
I simply share my wealth through my businesses and ministries.
I simply pray more in the heat of the sun each morning, surrounded by a beautiful garden.
Dude, it's your turn.
Ask yourself this simple question: What gives you joy?
Write down.
Great joy. Small joys. Write to everyone.
Do not live passively.
Do not live your days on autopilot, forever trapped in your routine.
Fill your life with joy as you can.
Live your life deliberately.
Here is my belief: People can not give what you do not have. If you do not respect yourself, love yourself, and meet Joy needs, how can do the same for others? The holy saint is a saint happy.
Make your own list of happiness today.
