Nottingham – a reel-life
Your stay in Nottingham will have great memories for years to come. However, some of the actors directors in the world and have captured the magic of the city for posterity as the backdrop for some very dear and memorable films.
With great success Robin Hood will be released in May 2010 starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett, here is a summary of how some of the known sites have been previously engaged Nottingham with film.
1960 was an excellent year in Nottingham on the screen CV, which is essential for the production of sons and lovers based in Eastwood and Brinsley Colliery. 1980 TV series Boon gets in on the act, full of flashes of the city, including The Tales of Robin Hood, the Royal Ballet Theatre, Victoria Shopping Centre, Neal Auction, dairy Co-Op, prison HMP Nottingham, Queens Medical Centre, Rosie O'Brien pump house and pig farms.
Nottingham has seen a resurgence in recent films. Shane Meadows's 2002 film Once Upon a Time in the Midlands starring Robert Carlisle, Kathy Burke and Ricky Tomlinson Porchester Junior School characteristics and committed Prior to the city to film in 1997 and 1999 TWENTYFOURSEVEN with Romeo Brass.
