St. Catharines, Ontario – Summer Events

St. Catharines Ontario has few equals in North America in regard to attention to aesthetic beauty. St. Catharines nickname 'is the garden city due to the great attention paid to the development and maintenance of 1,000 hectares of parks, gardens and trails. No wonder that a place comes alive in the summer, with several large events held to show the diversity of the city, its culture and beauty.

Niagara Folk Arts Festival.
The biggest celebration in St. Catharines, the Folk Arts Festival began in 1969 as a celebration of diversity. In its modern incarnation, the festival is an evening that lasts 17 days from May 12-28. Highlights of the festival include Ambassador Ball, which kicks off the celebration, and wrap the weekend event Montebello Park entitled "The Popular Arts in the Park." The closing ceremony of admission are free, and visitors and residents alike are encouraged to leave and enjoy the many different foods, dances, art exhibits, and more that the festival has to offer.

Harvest Festival Niagara New.
In the Niagara region to be a special place for growing grapes, it is no wonder that dozens of wineries call the area home. The holds placed on various celebrations with their product throughout the year, and summer is time for the Niagara New Vintage Festival. More than 30 wineries participating in the event, which begins June 10 with a tasting of vintage wines in the Santa Catalina Golf and Country Club. The wineries scheduled to be part of the event offered a list of places of interest the festival of tastings to trips and other events. This festival is one not lost for the wine connoisseur in southern Ontario!

Canada Day.
Throughout Canada, cities light for the first of July, and St. Catharines is no exception. There are several events scheduled to celebrate the birthday of the country. Among them are Family Day Street Party of Canada that extends 11 am-3 pm at Market Square. There are also celebrations of long weekend in Port Dalhousie, which includes a carnival full of fireworks and a great show. Charles Daley Park also offers a full day of celebrations from 14:00 until after the fireworks show at 10 pm.

Dragon regattas.
This annual event takes place on 21 July in Henley. The races are sponsored by the Museum of St. Catharines.

Henley Canadian Royal Regatta.
Celebrating its 101 anniversary in St. Catharines this year is the biggest racing event of its kind in the Western world. The Royal Canadian Henley Regatta annually receives more than 3,500 competitors in various rowing events of August 7 to12th. The event will be held on Martindale Pond in Port Dalhousie.

Also is a series of concerts in various parks of St. Catharines "famous throughout the summer. These include lunch and a series of evening concerts. St. Catharines offers events summer for everyone to enjoy, a national celebration range of multicultural events and athletic.
