(Editor's note: All team rankings for this first article are based on the survey of the 25 coaches before the season, and skills in Sagarin, Jeff Sagarin facts, math scores between competition among all Division 1 teams 245.)

Brigham Young, Boise State, Alabama and Oklahoma State were the big winners of college football in the opening week of the season in the NCAA.

No. 20-ranked Brigham Young (BYU) used a late touchdown Q4 alter ranking No. 3 Oklahoma, 14-13, and hopes all but erased from Oklahoma to a dream season. The Sooners, who lost to Florida 24-14 in the National Championship Game last year, returned the 2008 Heisman Trophy winner, quarterback Sam Bradford.

Bradford injured his right shoulder in the closing seconds of the first half on a hard, clean hit, highlight-reel BYU linebacker Coleby Clawson, Bradford saw second half from the sidelines. Backup Bradford, Landry Jones, Oklahoma's offense was not moving enough to protect their main halftime 10-7.

BYU quarterback Max Hall went 26-of-38 for 329 yards and two touchdowns. Yes, Hall gave up two interceptions and he was sacked four times, but when it counted, he led to the Pumas in 16 plays to score from 78 yards that broke Oklahoma.

After converting on fourth-and-4 play from the 29 Sooners' line Yard, Hall completed a seven-yard touchdown pass to a wide McKay Jacobson in the back of the end zone with 3:03 remaining. BYU's victory was enormous, not only because Oklahoma was ranked No. 3, but also because the Pumas won on the road.

There is no way in God's green Earth that Oklahoma deals # 3 in the poll this week, and Brigham Young that most certainly ranked higher than No. 20.

Some fans can blame Sam Bradford to not generate enough offense in the first half because of Oklahoma led the nation in scoring last year with 51 + points per game. However, Bradford is not gave up go-ahead touchdown BYU-Oklahoma's defense allowed the score, the same defense that ranked 58th in scoring defense last year.

There are Oklahoma reasons why he lost the national championship in Florida last year, and the main reason was the Sooners' defense-rating were much better offensive defense. Before fans do not want to accept this, but that's their problem.

BYU's victory would have gotten even bigger news if not for No. 14-ranked most excellent Boise State is 19-8 home win over No. 16 ranked Oregon. The Broncos excluded from Oregon in the first half, 13-0, and then did stick in the second half.

Oregon won the pumping-punch thanks to the ducks "out of control, 1,000-yard, top-running again Blount LeGarrette slugging Byron Hout Boise State after Boise State's victory, but the Broncos won the competition, and bragging rights.

Blount was expelled Oregon team for the rest of the season. He has run his last over from the Ducks, and quite possibly impressed a lot of money and the NFL a career opportunity. After launching his sucker punch, Blount also apparently slapped a teammate. Unfortunately, in his way, Blount has apparently not found robberies thugging shut and activities, and is not part of college football.

No team has played well, but the Broncos made a statement earlier in the season on the status of middle-level conferences.

Introduction their games, both at Brigham Young University in the Mountain West Conference, and the State of Boise Western Athletic Conference, are rarely mentioned in the same teams as the six major conferences that get automatic bids to the six major bowl games, including the National Championship Game.

The six major conferences include the Southeastern Conference (SEC), Big Ten, Pacific 10 (Pac-10), Big 12, Big East and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Last year in Utah of the Mountain West Conference ran the table with a perfect 13-0 record, and was not even considered a worthy adversary of Florida in the National Championship Game.

Utah Alabama quickly Bin 31-17 in Sugar Bowl BCS, and a one-loss Oklahoma is against Florida. Oklahoma's 45-35 loss came at the hands of another team one loss, Texas Longhorns, who were beaten Texas Tech by 39-33 in the great Michael Crabtree catches TD in the last second. The Longhorns were upset because they were not selected to play Florida for the title.

After going 12-0, Alabama lost to Florida 31-20 in the championship game of the SEC, and then never got over that bad losing to Utah. If the Alabama Crimson Tide have had the opportunity to face the Florida Gators, they would have done better, Utah Red Tide viewed as a means to an adversary, who was Alabama error.

Apparently, No. 5 Alabama's ranking has recovered as the Crimson Tide rolled over the No. 7 ranked Virginia Tech Hokies 34-24 on Saturday at home, scoring 18 points in the final quarter to seal the deal. The game was huge as it is rare when two Top 10 teams play in a game of the season.

The ranking No. 9 Oklahoma State Cowboys, who went 5-0 last year as a home favorite, picked up a big win at home against the visit of Georgia Bulldogs, 24-10. Top teams must beat teams ranked above other to climb in the polls, and Oklahoma State was what he did, scoring touchdowns in the second, third and fourth quarters as Georgia's offense sputtered and the defense allowed too many points.

Now let's review some blowout victories for unclassified and Top 25 teams over cupcake opponents just collecting a big check for a defeat of waiting, and waiting is not adversely affected by injuries before entering league play:

No. 1 Florida by 59 points at home over 1-AA Charleston Southern, ranked among the 201 245 Sagarin teams, 62-3.

Air Force (ranked 55) by 72 points at home over 1-AA Nicholls State, ranked 176, 72-0.

Arkansas State (ranked 119) by 61 points at home over 1-AA Mississippi Valley State, ranked 237 among 245 teams, 61-0.

Southern Mississippi (ranked 65) by 52 points at home over 1-AA Alcorn State, ranked 232 among 245 teams, 52-0.

Fresno State (ranked 71) by 51 points at home over 1-AA UC Davis (UC Davis), ranked 146, 51-0.

Houston (ranked 66) by 48 points at home over 1-AA Northwestern State, ranked 178, 55-7.

Vanderbilt (ranked 54) by 45 points at home over 1-AA Western Carolina, ranked 182, 45-0.

Personally, I'm ignoring the Top 25 or not played a team ranked 1-AA school and did not win at least 45 points. That some other media give them ink.

Here are some good wins for Top 25 teams are not classified:

No. 4 Southern California (USC) by 53 points at home over San Jose State, ranked 109, 56-3.

No. 12 California by 45 points at home in Maryland, ranked 45, 52-13,

No. 23 Notre Dame 35 points at home over Nevada, ranked 77, 35-0.

No. 24 Nebraska by 46 points at home at Florida Atlantic, ranked 112, 49-3.

No. 25 Kansas by 46 points home in northern Colorado, ranked 198, 49-3.

Baylor (ranked 85) on the road to Wake Forest, ranked 30, 24-21. Missouri (unranked by AP and Coaches Polls, but ranked No. 18 by Sagarin) on the road over Illinois (ranked 63), 37-9. South Carolina (ranked 31) in the road North Carolina State, ranked 58, 7-3, in the game the lowest score of the first weekend. Here are some really impressive gains little Top 25 and not classified teams during the first week of play:

Topping the list is ranked No. 19, Utah's victory at home over rival Utah State, ranked 131, Utah Utes 35-17.The were 13-0 last year, the Utah State Aggies were 3-9.

No. 2 Texas at home in Louisiana-Monroe, ranked 127, 59-20. Friend, the Longhorns should have done better against the team 4-8 last year Warhawk.

No. 6 Ohio State at home over Navy, ranked 59 31-27. The Buckeyes were outscored 13-11 in the fourth quarter for the Midshipmen, who went 8-5 last year and lost 29-19 to Wake Forest in the EagleBank Bowl. What Ohio State Buckeyes are in each year are given a pass in the final standings? The Buckeyes lost to Florida 41-14 in the 2006 National Championship Game, losing to LSU 38-24 in the National Championship Game 2007, and lost 24-21 to Texas in the 2008 BCS Fiesta Bowl.

Face it, man, the Buckeyes are weak. Would he believe you Ohio State was 6-6 against the spread last year, and a paltry 1-4 against the spread as a favorite at home? No wonder they have fallen out of favor with the betting public.

No. 11 LSU on the road against Washington, ranked 80, 31-23. This game could easily have left the LSU Tigers. The Washington Huskies, 0-12 last year without a win, are much, much better this year under new coach Steve Sarkisian and defensive coordinator Nick Holt. To carry errant pass led to a touchdown of 29 yards to the LSU defensive unit, and a 45-yard TD and catching Tiger to cope with a loss that Husky free safety Greg Walker misplayed in a one-on-one, and Washington, wins the game, 23-17.

Get this: Washington ran 83 plays to 48 for LSU, was acquired Tigers 478-321 yards, and 11 units Husky went beyond midfield and in the territory of Tigre.
