college and SAT scores?

I'm curious as to what types of schools can be found at [private / public / elite / etc.] I am white, and the 2nd generation in my family to go to college. [My parents left for a while] gpa: about 96 or 97/100 activities: Student Council, NHS [national] honor society, running for Freshman and Soph. year. I also work part-time work. The results of the SAT: not taken yet. PSAT: fact by 182 [total] classes: all my classes are honors / AP / DC I am studying hard for the SAT, and I hope to do about a 2000 ——— what type of schools is likely to I accept? [Live in Texas by the way] If I wanted to go to a univ. SMU or Rice as, how high my score on the SAT is necessary? Would there be a possibility that anyone at all entering a univ. as Vanderbilt, NYU, etc? PAM: I do not know my GPA on a 4.0 scale, I'm in high school and in the scale of 100, is about 96. 3 is a high 4.0 on the scale, I'm just not exactly sure what. 3.6 perhaps? or 3.7?

There is no idea of what your GPA means. By the way, if you parents did not graduate from college, you are 1st generation. That makes you look better in the application. SMU: 1650-1950 Vanderbilt, Rice, University of New York: 1950-2205 These results are the results of the bottom 25% and 25% of children in these schools. Rice, of course, has an acceptance rate of 23%. So you need something plus high SATs to get How to be class president or something (I'm telling you because you say you're in the student council). University New York has a 37% acceptance, so if you get good SAT, you can probably go (I know a couple people there, and they were not the type of child receiving 2400s). Vanderbilt is like rice. You should not have trouble getting into SMU. Hard work, study for the SAT, and good luck. I think you're in good shape for college.
