Free School Activities – Colegio Luso Internacional do Porto – A study by Artur Victoria
Organizing groups can actively support free activities the work of teachers and students to improve the school environment. Partnerships and associations play an important role.
Schools should support organizations, popular movements and recreation activities in which the young themselves participate, as schools are in turn supported by these agencies. Activities under the aegis of organizations and associations can provide schools with an incentive to test different working procedures, and if students come into contact partnerships with local community during the school day, this can provide a significant incentive for leisure activities. Partnerships can respond to the need of the students for their participation in school.
The school management should be in consultation with the affected teachers, to initiate cooperation by inviting representatives partnerships. Contributions may be made by the associations during school hours, but especially during the time allocated for leisure-time activities and before and after school hours. The school management and teachers concerned should be able to properly plan the activities with regard to time and presence. The involvement of associations must take place within the framework established by the school day, resources and facilities available.
All activities during the school day are subject to the general objectives set for the school system. In this context, the associations themselves should be responsible for planning free activities. Partnerships with special programs, should have the right to propagate their views. It is the duty of the school management to ensure a balance and a full range through its selection of activities of the association.
Sometimes, only certain political association may be willing to participate in school activities. This should not be allowed to stand in the way of all activities. Instead, teachers should provide sufficient time for the lesson for other ideas, so that students can acquire a total view on the basis of information that is like, complete as possible. The aim should be however, for the associations that represent different views to be activated directly in schools.
Schools can make many important contributions in the cultural field. The responsibility for implementing cultural tasks incumbent on all school subjects, but the responsibility lies particularly in those subjects who have about developing the capacity of expressive and communicative students to establish good cultural norms for children and youth. Within subjects optional or free activities of various classes, students can deepen their interests in various cultural spheres. Collaboration with municipal associations and schools of music can also mean lot. Songs from activities such as classes themselves, providing opportunities for cultural workers of various kinds to participate in school activities. Different groups at school students should be able to present programs owned in other classes, other school levels or in other schools. This is often a good way to help deal with various problems at school, for example, problems related to bullying and questions about alcohol and drugs.
Schools must work in partnership with the company and working life in general. This will mean a portion of school activities are held outside school buildings in the form of walking, hiking and career guidance practice. In addition, schools use materials and examples of working life. Working conditions must as far as possible, we illustrate in concrete terms in the context of teaching This means that other people besides the school staff must be able to participate in two lessons and free activities.
